TRAININGS

JumpIn Hub (Gondomar / Portugal)

The training included theoretical content, but we put great emphasis on practical activities, such as energizers, ice-breakers and team-buildings, which engaged the trainees. At the end of the session, the trainees evaluated the training qualitatively through a google form. Some feedback: «well-organized and oriented training, with interesting activities»; «continue with these activities».

Codec (Retie / Belgium)

Youth thought it was interesting, just the question is if everybody felt comfortable to share experience. They liked the online icebreakers, many didn’t try them online before. The training got the youth to think about the topic & raise awareness. After the training the youth was still talking about the topic between themselves.

High on Life (Mileto / Italy)

We decided to do the Pilot implementation of Training in collaboration with the Comprehensive Institute of Mileto – Primary School.

We had around 32 youth participating taking part in the training, since they were coming from different class we started the day with some energizers, ice breaking and name games. Thank to the activities planned we had the chance to briefly introduce the MINDSET project and touch some topics such as: Bullying in school, how to prevent bullying, what are the action to take when you or someone is bulled etc. Then we had a group activities.

The participants were divided in mini group and they had to brainstorm on the following pints: What is Bullying? What Can You Do? How to prevent it? Another interesting activity was «Know Your Rights». All the participants were proactive and motivated to participate in an active way on the activities proposed. All the participants understood that bullying is an issue that happens everywhere in the world, not only in their school or community, and this was important to give them the input to fight against it a create a more peaceful environment in their class/community

System and G (Komotini / Greece)

In Komotini we had the joy to meet with young people of our community and visitors- volunteers from other countries for the project » Mindset- prevent bullying through a positive mindset».

During the sessions we had the opportunity to present to the participants informative material that covers many aspects of the bullying phenomenon and ways to deal with it and work on preventing bullying through a positive mindset.

All participants recognized that cyberbylling is a form of bullying that has increased over the years and has particularly negative impact on the lives of those involved and overall on our society and we should work together to minimize this impact and implement good practices to deal with this phenomenon.

The aim was to educate, to increase awareness and capacitate the future youth workers and active citizens with the knowledge and tools to prevent and address bullying effectively in their communities. The interaction and the presented material spurred interesting conversations among the participants and gave food for thought and hopefully had an overall positive impact!.

Vrijeme d.o.o. (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

«During the pilot testing, we used an educational program with exercises and energizers as a qualitative assessment of the youth education program. The reactions of the participants, the openness of developing the discussion, sharing their own experiences was surprisingly good, they asked for an extension of the discussions. We concluded that the problem of cyberbullying is even more present and widespread and that young people do not have a clear picture of whom to turn to for help and how to protect themselves from this problem.

We asked them about workshops, and below are some of the reactions of young:

  • It helped them to be open and honest with themselves.
  • I felt humiliated and offended, a feeling of inferiority.
  • I didn’t believe I was that strong and that I would be able to handle it.
  • In fact, the activities we piloted were ‘Empathy and Crush’ them and other warnings «
Prisms (Birkirkara / Malta)

In both pilots we used qualitative assement with young people, we asked them about the workshops and the following are some of the reactions of the young people

  • It gave them new ways, means to express themselves especiallty their emotions.
  • They felt they were more engaged when they could actually carry out hands-on activities rather than just receiving information. In fact, the activity with we piloted were ‘Increasing self-awareness and esteem’ and ‘Active Citizenship’.
  • The young people remarked the fact that they could really experience these concepts helped them to understand them better.
